"Feed my lambs. Tend my sheep. feed my sheep." john 21:15-17

::: Outreach is a natural overflow :::

Jesus has poured out His love for us, and He continues to pour out His love to us each day.  Jesus rescued us from a life separated from God's love, and He wants to rescue everyone else.

We want to go with Jesus, following His lead, into our community, and help people find a relationship with God that rescues them too.  We do this by extending genuine kindness, mercy, love, wisdom, and truth that Jesus has formed in our hearts.

We do this because God's love moves us.  It's the natural overflow of His love poured into our hearts.

Granada Connections Ministry

The Granada Connections Team has tackled a big job! With 2 parts to the ministry they serve to connect people within Granada's groups and events and then to connect Granada to the local community. Here's a few methods and ministries that are supporting:
  • First Impressions: Greeting guests and overseeing the 1st impression they receive both relationally and visually.
  • Connecting multiple groups within GHFC who are serving and looking for similar efforts. Unifying GHFC within a singular focus.
  • Caring for staff, volunteers and members
  • Meeting those in need where they are.
  • Gospel Center Churches of La Mirada: a coalition of gospel-centered churches within La Mirada, Ca.
  • Host, Assist and/or promote various outreach opportunities within the local community and our Friends Church Community.

::: local outreach :::

We support a handful of ongoing ministries that are always in need of volunteers or donations.

  • Donate to Our Food Pantry

    Granada's Food pantry is available to those in need of a meal and can be found in the GHFC office Monday-Thursday.  One of our pastors will greet them, pray with them, provide a meal, and offer any additional resources that may be helpful.

    We are always in need of more non-perishable food items. They can be delivered to the main office at any time during office hours.

  • Love School Staff

    Once a quarter, Granada Connections hosts a breakfast for staff at a local school. Join the connections team by either providing financial or food donations, set-up, service and/or clean up.

::: Other Outreach Opportunities :::

Jesus leads us to be One Body of Christ; to be unified as we stand and walk beside other believers. We do this because there is so much more than just 1 church can do. While GHFC is always active in finding ways to serve our community, here are a few other organizations that reach additional  people surrounding the greater Granada community. For more information about any of these ministries or ways you can get involved please contact us at zoro@ghfc.org

  • Bringing our community, schools, city government, businesses, non-profits, and houses of worship together for the good of our city.   www.lovelamirada.org

  • ‘Love Friends’ is a barn building type of an effort where many 'Friends' congregation churches pool their financial and volunteer resources together to help sister churches break through a barrier that is currently limiting their continued impact and reach the Next Generation in their community.  We have already received generous financial commitments from several of our Friends Churches but we will need more to complete the funding for these projects.

    We encourage you to prayerfully consider joining this effort and helping to move our Family of Churches into the FUTURE by making a kingdom investment into another Friends Church.  On behalf of our entire Family of Churches we ask you to help lead the way to engage your church community, to step outside of yourself, commit to pray, to give and even to send a few from your congregation to serve in one of the ‘Love Friends’ effort.

    Will you JOIN US..?

  • We offer two support programs for our women. We have a parenting support group for our women who choose to carry-to-term, called Stepping Stones Support Group. We also have a program offering after abortion support.

  • Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is a Bible-centered organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in the local church for Christian living.

  • Sunday evening meal and worship service has been growing as God’s Word is being proclaimed to those in need of hope. The “Basement Church” meets on Sunday evenings. Many are homeless. Many are fighting various forms of addiction or mental illness. Others are just trying to survive in a despair-ridden inner city neighborhood. The Basement Church meets in the basement of Long Beach Friends Church. Several churches take turns providing a meal prior to the worship service on Sunday evenings. Often, the church providing dinner will also bring a worship team or prayer counselors.

  • Imagine Whittier is a collaboration between The Whole Child, Imagine LA, Greenleaf, and the Whittier Consortium on Homelessness. Imagine Whittier’s mission is to mobilize the citizens and resources of Whittier to end family homelessness in their community. To achieve this mission, Imagine Whittier will utilize Imagine LA’s proprietary Family Empowerment & Mentorship (FEM) model to train and guide volunteers as they mentor families exiting homelessness and progress from barely surviving to thriving. This innovative mentorship program empowers families to transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency and helps every member of the family find success.

  • What are you passionate about? With four primary areas of focus, OC United has an area of service for just about everyone. Choose from one of these initiatives and contact OC United to find out what their needs are this moment.

    • Community Needs (serve the Fullerton and greater Orange County areas thru various events such as Love Fullerton)
    • At-Risk Youth (contribute prayer, material needs, and financially to after school programs around Orange County. • Domestic Abuse Program (If you are uniquely equipped to help women through recovery from domestic abuse and drug abuse, please call now!)
    • Homeless Assistance: The Jobs for Life Program is under way and doing well! They are still looking for job mentors to help someone grow and develop the skills needed to succeed in a job.
